1. Always Stay Hydrated

Water will be your number one friend to get ready for summer.  Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water every day because it is the most important aspect to getting in shape, shedding a few pounds, getting healthy, and shining from the inside out.  If you drink more water throughout the day, you’re less likely to feel bloated and will have plenty of energy to keep you up all day without crashing.

2. Wake Up Super Early

Having a regular schedule is a great way to make sure you start the day off on the right foot.  This also means getting up super early every day.  A regular schedule can make the difference in what you eat, when you eat, when you exercise, and when you go to bed.  You need to get into a routine and follow it every single day to ensure you’re proactive and can accomplish all your goals.

People forget that in order to accomplish their goals, they need to put their heart and soul into it.  You need to work hard every day to start achieving everything you want to achieve for summer.  While getting up early every single day, even on the weekends, might not sound like summer tunes in your head, it will certainly help you achieve your goals and reframe your perspective.  Soon enough, we know you’ll start loving getting up early every day.

3. Get the Perfect Shoes

No, we’re not talking about high heels here, although there is a time and place for those lovelies.  We’re talking about good shoes that will make a massive difference when you move.  You need extra support to feel comfortable, which is the reason you need the perfect shoe.  Having decent shoes to get things done every day will make a major difference in your motivation and comfort.  There are so many unique and stylish shoes today, just make sure you buy some that keep you pushing to work harder at your goals.

4. Go to Bed Early

You need to go to bed early every night so you can get plenty of sleep and wake up the next day feeling refreshed.  It will make a huge difference in your energy levels.  Again, it is very important to get into a good sleep routine so your body is fully rested and you’re recouped for the next day.  Don’t stay up late at night watching your favorite TV shows; instead, go to bed early so you can wake up and tackle the day, especially your morning workout.

Getting plenty of sleep will not only give you energy, but it will make you feel better all day.  Going to bed early is not as easy as it seems, since there are always distractions.  But once you start your routine, you’ll love it and will want to go to bed early every night.  While your friends are sluggish all day because they stayed up til the wee hours of the night, you’re starting your day fresh and ready to tackle anything the day brings your way.  Try it and stick to it, you’ll soon thank us for it.

5. Hit the Weights

Believe it or not, weights will not make you look like a body builder, so don’t believe that for a second.  Weights will make you look tone and lean, which is perfect for summer.  You want to start off light, 5 or 10 pounds perhaps.  It’s up to you to decide how much weight you can handle.  If you really want to fast-forward your progress, you might want to invest in a gym membership along with a personal trainer who can push you a little bit harder.  It’s also great to learn the proper way to lift so you’re not straining and doing damage to yourself.  Never be afraid to ask for expert help.

Lifting weights is not going to make you lean overnight or transform you into a body builder who wins trophies.  But if you are persistent and incorporate weightlifting into your routine, alongside cardio, you’ll soon be in tiptop shape for the summer. Lifting weights is great because it not only helps you lose weight, but it helps you gain muscle.  Just remember this when you’re lying on the beach sipping on your margarita.
